Bottle opener/hat rack

Got this from a Total Ruckus member, he designed and fabricated it himself. Then my boy mike got a hold of it...

State of the Ruck address

So as you can see this is not good... The Ruck has been down for quite sometime b/c I've been messing with the carb. I bought a larger one to instal b/c in theory more air=more power. From my research a lot of people say that the big carb is too much for a 49cc engine to handle. I'm not so sure about that, but what I am sure of is it is a pain in the ass to tune. So much so that after about 2 months of fucking with it I ripped it out and sold it. I have gone back to the stock carb but I have still altered the air intake system. So I need to tune and jet this carb but it's cold as balls right now and it gets dark at 230 in the afternoon. I also ordered a complete stock intake system from a Total Ruckus member which came today. This way I can see if I've just totally fucked the carb up, or if I just need to jet it. To do this up right, I need to invest in an air/fuel ratio gauge. This are mad expensive, about $300 or so. I am hoping I find one I can rent or borrow. Maybe I should just take the plunge and buy one b/c I'll have to go through this whole process again.

This is what it looks like w/o the stock air box. Pretty sick if I do say so myself, I need and extension kit.

I also ordered a Daytona Gas tank cover from another TR member. Hopefully I will have that in about a week or so. Not it won't look like ass w/o the floor board.

Ruckus Family Reunion

Photobucket

Can't believe I forgot to post this. Sunday Aug 31st we held the first Ruckus Family Reunion. It was great, we saw a serious accident involving a Lexus SUV, got some great grub at The Loveless Cafe, and rode on the Natchez Trace. Which, if you've never been it is gorgeous. Absolutly amazing. So amazing in fact that we are going back to do it again on Oct. 12th.

Here are a few snapspots from along the way:

Ruckus' or is it Rucki or Rucks or Ruckuses?

Next to the big boys at the Loveless.

A lot of people ask what the gas mileage is like, here's me filling up.

Photobucket

and NOT me...

Oh, and this too.

In addition to the racing coil, I got this in the mail today from my favorite spot, Bowls LA.

New mods

I've fallen a bit behind in blogging. Sorry, I'm pretty sure no one reads this tho so who really cares.

I added these, which were a pain in the ass. Biggest PITA so far, I actually messed up my hand while adding these things.
They add some stiffness to the clutch, which gives me better acceleration.

Photobucket

The next things were hella easy. I added a new NGK Iridium spark plug. Gives a better spark, hopefully it will run better in colder weather too which is just around the corner.

Photobucket

I also added a new spark plug wire. Again, should optimize the spark. James told me that spark plug cables do actually make a difference so I'm gonna trust him.

Photobucket

Tonight, I added the Posh Racing Ignition, supposed to provide more spark to the plug and offer a smoother idle. We'll see tomorrow.

Polini Variator

The Polini variator I put on rocks, the Daytona kevlar belt is banging. I put the Posh Racing CDI on and I can't tell if it works or not. But I need it to bet the Big Carb, it won't work without it.

I also ordered the best part ever. It's a bottle opener/hat rack. It's gonna be sick! Perfect for football season and labor day.

I'm planning my first Ruckus Ride next Sunday. Hopefully it will be a good turnout. I'm looking forward to it.

Gonna get my grub on.

New parts a comin'

Got some new stuff on the way. All performance mods, next up is either the carb kit from Bowls or changing out the stock handle bars and putting on some BMX bars.

Anyways, onto the new stuff.

Daytona Kevlar drive belt, I've heard it adds 1-2 mph and will ast a heck of a lot longer than the stock belt

Photobucket

This should be here tomorrow. Pollini variator. I hear amazing things about this and it should give me about 5 more mph. Couple that with the drive belt and I should have about a 7mph improvement.

Photobucket

Just ordered one of these, Posh CDI. Will take the rev limit off and should allow me to get to maximum speed.

Photobucket

That's all for now. Hopefully by Sunday I'll have a much improved Ruckus.

Finally got a good set of tools

I've been working on The Ruckus with some POS socket set from PepBoys that I got about 5 or 6 years ago for less than $10. So needless to say it's not the best. I got this nice Craftsman set, 150+ piece set. I should have these for a long time to come.

Had to add some style to it...I'm sure that more will come.

Pete approves.

New stuff coming

Placed another order with Bowls tonight, nothing fancy or anything.

Got a the JDM cup holder for long rides.

Photobucket

License plate frame. Should be in by the end of the week.

Photobucket

It's gonna be a slow week as far as mods go. I've got the speed variater sitting on my desk, but I think I'm gonna do that in a few weeks as well as re-painting the battery box. After that, I'll be putting some new grips on and a new suspension which is needed bad.

Not so fast...

Still got a bit of an electrical problem w/ the Ruck. The left turn signal isn't functioning correctly. The fornt left one doesn't do anything and the rear one just stays on and doesn't blink. The indicatoron the handle bars stays on too and doesn't blink when the left one is activated. Guess I need to take the battery box off AGAIN and examine the wires that were crimped. Cut the tape check it out and re-tape it.

Oh boy...fun times.

Ruckus Redux

My Ruck has been a bit under the weather lately. I had an electrical problem that started on Saturday and I couldn't figure it out. Thanks to the guys over at totalruckus.com I was able to to somethings and I located the problem. Really simple one, I had some wires that were pinched and that caused one of the fuses to blow. But now all is good. I promised some pics so here are some bad pics of the mods I've made.

This one is still a work in progress. I relocated the horn and removed the bracket. Next step is to paint it.

Photobucket

These are my ill mirrors I got from Bowls.

Photobucket

NCY frame sliders, considering painting these flat black. I actually don't mind teh chrome tho.

Photobucket

Very complex Halo mod.

Photobucket

Nice shot from the front

Photobucket

This is my next mod, it's a new pulley thing. Should give me a little but more mph.

Photobucket

So that's all for now.

Camera

I finally ordered a new camera. I've had a Sony one for a really long time, but I haven't used it in forever and I think I've lost it. Oh well, it's old as dirt and I think it was a whopping 1.3 Megapixels. I ordered the one that Tammi Jo has and her and Allen both think it's great. So if it's good enough for a professional, then it's good enough for me.

Here's what it looks like.

Photobucket

It should be here Monday. What does this have to do with a scooter you ask? It means I can finally take pictures and post them to this thing. I just installed the NCY frame sliders. They looks cool, they will look even cooler after they are painted and aren't chrome.

Scooter updates coming

I promise I'll have some scooter updates coming up. I got my Daytona mirrors in today and got them installed and they look amazing. I'll post picks soon.

Bringin' da Ruckus to all you naughty head fuckas

I'm a little late on this, but hey better late than never. This is my Ruckus, pretty sweet huh?
Photobucket

I plan on making it even sweeter over the next few months. It was a pain to get this thing. I had to drive to Ohio and go through a lot and I mean a lot of cornfeilds to get it here. this little guy traveled 850 miles laying down in the back seat of my car to get here. It made it ok and I couldn't be happier with it. 80 miles per gallon of the most fun I've ever had.

The first thing I'm doing is adding thes sick ass mirrors from the sickest shop I've seen in a minute. Bowls out in LA, bowlsla.com. They've got a lot of parts and accessories that I need to get. They sell kicks, toys, scooter parts...what else do you need? Other than beer but I've got Yazoo for that.

Here's a pick of the mirrors, ill as shit.
Photobucket

Once there arrive at my door and I get them on I'll post some pics.
